Photography has been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember. From the time I was a child, I loved taking pictures and capturing memories. But it wasn't until later in life that I truly understood what drove me into photography. In this blog post, I want to share my personal story and the experiences that led me to pursue photography as a passion and a career.

I grew up in a small town in the countryside, surrounded by nature and beauty. None of my parents were anywhere near the concept of Photography. They bought our camera when I was just six years old, it was a film camera, and I was hooked. I loved taking pictures of my family, any animals around, and everything around me.

As I grew older, I became more interested in photography as an art form. I started experimenting with different styles and techniques, and I was constantly seeking to improve my skills. I never took any courses or read books and magazines about photography. It was just something I always liked and never wanted to pursue it as a course. Whenever we used to travel anywhere, my first instinct was to capture anything that catches my eye, no matter how small or big it was. Eventually, when I grew up, I began to travel more, seeking out new and interesting places to photograph.

But it wasn't just the technical aspects of photography that drew me in. It was also the emotional connection I felt to my subjects. I loved capturing moments of joy, love, and beauty, as well as moments of sadness and pain. I found that photography allowed me to express myself in a way that words could not.

It was the year 2010, I got my first personal camera phone. It was given to me by my Sister and Father on my birthday, and that was a turning point. That particular phone literally gave me a head start towards Photography. One experience that stands out in my mind is a trip I took to South India. It was that time when I had to move out for higher studies, and I ended up in Bangalore (Karnataka, India). I used to live alone, and there was no one to stop me. It took me some courage, but I made it to my FIRST SOLO TRIP.I had always dreamed of going on a SOLO TRIP and I finally had the opportunity to do so. The beauty and majesty of the wildlife and the landscape were awe-inspiring, and I took hundreds of pictures. But it was the people I met on that trip who touched me the most. I visited a local school and took pictures of the children, and their faces lit up with joy when they saw themselves on the screen of my camera. It was a powerful moment, and it made me realise the impact that photography can have.

Here's a picture from my first solo trip:

Ever since then, my love for photography has only grown. I have pursued it as a passion but not as a career, and I feel grateful every day for the opportunities it has given me.
The best part is the interaction with people in the process. You meet new people, you capture emotions you might never see again. Photography has allowed me to see the world in a new way, to connect with people and places on a deep level, and to express myself in a way that is meaningful and authentic. If you're considering taking up photography yourself, I encourage you to do so. You never know where it might take you.

Thank you for reading my personal story of what drove me into photography. I hope it has inspired you to pursue your own passions and to find meaning and joy in the things you love.
